My classroom is a hands-on Family and Consumer Science (FCS) space for 6th–8th grade students at a suburban middle school in South Carolina. It includes kitchen stations, sewing areas, and flexible workspaces where students learn real-world skills like cooking, nutrition, sewing, child development, and financial literacy. The environment encourages teamwork, independence, and responsibility. Through project-based learning, students build practical life skills while developing respect for themselves and others. The classroom is active, engaging, and designed to prepare students for success both in and out of school.
