I teach in 6 different schools to learn and grow with gifted children in grades K-5 in St. Johns, County Florida with a focus on their social and emotional needs. Our school district is one of the top achievers within the state because the needs of the individual students are valued. My gifted students' interests, readiness levels, and learning styles are highly varied. They are from affluent families and are homeless, are high achievers and struggle academically, are creative thinkers and are rigidly logical, are from diverse cultures, and are highly profound gifted or possibly twice exceptional. They need support in coping with anxiety, perfectionism, and executive functioning. I am the luckiest teacher because I get to learn and grow with them all! One commonality among my students, regardless of their special populations: they all love learning and have a right to be their academic, social, and emotional best!

About my class
