Who doesn't love an iPad? There isn't a single child in my class who doesn't love using one; they are engaging, exciting, and FUN! My students only have the opportunity to use technology 1-2 times per week in our classroom. With only three (old) computers and one (old) iPad available for my students, they are limited in the amount of time they are able to learn using the latest technology. My students come from a variety of backgrounds and some do not have any technology available to them outside of school. Using iPads will enable my students to build valuable twenty-first-century skills to use in a rapidly growing technical world. With two new, 32gb iPads, my students will have the opportunity to learn in an engaging and fun way.
These newest iPads will allow my students to use the latest apps, websites, and games to enhance our literacy and math curriculum. This project will give my students the opportunity to learn in fun and interesting ways using current technology. My students will be able to access apps and games that reinforce skills and enable higher level thinking. I'll be able to differentiate learning for my all of my students. The iPads will be available during literacy centers for students to work on phonemic awareness, spelling, comprehension, phonics, and vocabulary. The iPads will be available during math centers for students to work on addition and subtraction, time, and measurement.
