Many of my students cannot afford the most basic school supplies. Without these tools to do the work, my students are challenged to achieve student success. About 75 percent of our school's population participate in a free or reduced-price lunch. In spite of limited resources due to budget cuts, my school met the standards set by the state for the school year 2018-2019 due to the hard work of the students, teachers as well as the support of the administration and parents. This year, I am handling two ESL classes, 4th and 5th graders coming from different backgrounds as well as different learning styles. Because of this background, that I want to promote healthy competition among my students. With the high expectations that I set up for each student in my classroom, I believe I will achieve my goal again this year, SUCCESS for ALL.
