Our school is serves an Appalachian culture. At one time we were considered rural but have moved to suburban as more families have moved into our district. Our school population is around 600 students comprising three grades, 6-8. We have a sizable population of students who receive free and reduced lunch, 51 percent.
Our school is filled with hard working staff members who try innovative ways to reach our students. Our goal is to identify where they currently are and take them as far as they can go in the time we spend with them. When dealing with so many students it is necessary to find ways that engage them, occupy their minds, spur their imagination, and inspire them to dream.
