Our newly renovated media center is a great spot for students to film and edit video projects to keep them engaged in their learning. Our media center is now the hub of the school - sometimes with 3-4 classes in there at once working on various projects! We have a green room, iMac editing stations, and the ability to edit videos on student Chromebooks. However, we only have 2 video cameras, limiting the number of students that can film video projects at one time. Our teachers and students have been eager to utilize this new space and technology, but we have run into hurdles only having 2 video cameras at the time.
Our short-term goal is to get 2 more video cameras for the media center, starting with 1 additional. We are also launching up a morning broadcast program that will be student driven. Our students can't wait to film and edit commercials for school events in addition to working on video projects when teachers bring them to work in the media center.
Our entire school will benefit from having additional video cameras for the media center. This is the start of something great happening that will drive students to the center of their learning!
