I teach a wonderful and enthusiastic second grade class. Nearly all students come from low socioeconomic families. Most of my students receive free lunch due to parents' low wage earnings. Many of them live in the local mobile home park. Homes are typically shared by two families and sometimes three. Most of my students do not have access to computers at home and visits to the library are few due to parents working two jobs to get by. Parents are friendly and support teachers at my school. Our parents recognize the value of education and make efforts to support learning as best they can.
