We are a NYC Title 1 public school in Corona, NY serving a large immigrant community. Most of our students come from low-income households and are English language learners. Many of them have special needs and do not have access to computers and technology outside of school. Despite their challenges in and out of the classroom, our students are always willing and eager to learn. They are especially excited to explore and apply their technology skills and I want to make sure they have the opportunity to engage in computer science/STEM activities.
I have the privilege of teaching computer science/technology to my students in third through fifth grade. I try to provide a fun and engaging learning environment in my computer classes while encouraging their curiosity and love of computer science.
