Our district's technology assets have left my students between a rock and a hard place. We are due for new adoptions very soon, but in the meantime students are justifiably frustrated by worn out trackpads on the Chromebooks we use daily. I hope to teach them about new and exciting tools they can use online like digital design sites, drag and drop coding, and animation. Unfortunately the hardware we have for now makes that an uninspiring proposition. Wireless mouse sets would revolutionize student engagement and willingness to try these new tools.
Many students love learning through video tutorials, but without headphones this makes a classroom or library feel chaotic. Students expressed this as a big need. We plan to choose headphones that can be cleaned easily, and checked out by individual students as needed for special projects.
Lastly there are a few accessories that will ease classroom management such as a slide advancing clicker that can be used from anywhere in the classroom. Many teachers have noticed a need for these, and they will be available for checkout to staff through our library.
