I am a first-year teacher starting in a 3rd-grade class for the 2020/21 school year! I will be teaching English/Language Arts and Science. I am looking for help to create an engaging environment for my students. Can you picture 8 and 9-year-old children sitting in hard plastic chairs for every lesson, every day? Flexible seating is a great strategy to keep students motivated and working hard. I hope to use this large classroom rug as a place for whole group instruction and discussion. The separated circles give students an assigned seat to keep a distance from each other and minimize disruptions. This rug will create a welcoming environment for students to feel comfortable and ready to work as we move through instruction!
