These tablets will help my students learn through technology. They will be used during math stations to play math games. They will be able to use math programs that will meet them at their level and help them grow. These games allow the kids to have fun, but learn as well. They will be able to be used as intervention, as well as enrichment.
A technology station in reading would be tremendously engaging and beneficial to my sweet first graders. They will use the tablets as a listening center some days. Other days they will be used to do online reading/language arts programs. Reading stations are my students' favorite part of the day. They love the listening center, but only having one classroom iPad makes it very difficult to have one. It's important for these students to be able to utilize a listening center so they can hear books being read aloud to them. This models fluency and will also help with their comprehension. After they listen to a book being read aloud, they will complete a comprehension activity, too.
Tablets are something that the kids are already familiar with, so these tablets will be an easy transition for them. They will be so excited to be able to get to use them daily in our classroom.
