My classroom has just received a facelift, courtesy of a much needed bond issue reconstruction project. My kids are as new and shiny as my room with the start of a new school year. The resources I have to work with, however, do not share the same glossy appearance as my classroom and eager students. Budgets cuts have hit us hard like many schools, and the poor oil economy has hit Woodward Schools even harder. Many of my students are from low-income families and can be transient due to their attachment to the oil field. They love getting in the Lab and DOING science instead of just reading about it!
