Currently, the only percussion instruments my students can use are bucket drums. I only have enough bucket drums for half of the class to be able to use them at a time, and most of them are cracked or broken. Not only does this affect my students' ability to play the instruments, it also affects their safety. In buying new drums, I will be able to give each student in a class an instrument to play. The students will all be able to make music at the same time and stay safe while doing so. I can use these drums in several different ways with my students. Not only will I be able to use them to teach rhythm, I can also use them to teach about African cultures, instrument playing, instrument care, composing, and improvisation. So please help my students to have a creative, fun, and effective musical experience in school!
