This trip will allow our kindergarteners to connect the importance of poetry, reading, writing, and readers theatre into a real life experience. Going out into a community opens the doors to social-emotional learning, adventure, and community building. Theatre invites the children into a whole new world filled with adventure, creativity, literacy, and problem solving which is exactly what this field trip opportunity will involve them in. Allowing them to be an audience member for this puppet show will give them a different perspective on what literacy is and what literacy can be. This field trip will hopefully open up many doors related to the arts, classroom community, public speaking, confidence, perseverance, and team building.
