I am a school psychologist for a PreK-5th grade school in a community that is part suburb part rural. I work with all students, not just those who receive special education. My role is to be as comprehensive as possible- that means on any given day, I am tasked with assessments, counselings, meetings, and handling crises that may arise. I also team up with the school social worker and visit classrooms to provide social emotional lessons. We use the Second Step program together, and then I also deliver monthly lessons that focus on diversity, conflict resolution, friendship skills, and online behaviors to name a few. I love that my role in the school is ever changing and different, but this also means being prepared and flexible! In listing with Donors Choose, I hope to have some projects funded that will help me continue to be a resource for both students and staff, and make my practice even better!
