My third grade students will benefit from these collaborative seating arrangements by working and supporting one another within the classroom and their table group. Each group will have a community supply area where each member will be responsible for sharing and utilizing supplies with one another.
These tables will not only enhance student learning, but will encourage a sense of community and socialization that students need at this young age.
Tables will lead to an increase in manners, sharing and cooperation. Students will increasingly become accepting of one another's differences as well as their similarities. Through shared learning and shared supplies, students will have the opportunity to reach their full learning and social potentials as this age group.
