My students come from a variety of socio economic backgrounds. Their diversity only adds to the knowledge brought to the classroom to share with one another. Our Title 1 school is located in the heart of the Yakima Valley where agriculture is the primary source of employment for their families. My classroom space is a functional, open area that allows for interactive group work along with space for individuals that need a private creative space. I teach five different classes (Jewlery, Pottery, Design Elements, Design Principles, and Didgital Art) throughout the day and I have set up our small space to maximize creative time. For example, the room that would be that my teacher "office" is no longer a private office, it is an extra creative space for advanced students!
