My students live in a poverty stricken area in California. Our school provides 50% free lunch to all children. Many students lack parental care and guidance, so more often than not, school is their safe haven. Regardless of their home lives, my students come to school everyday with a smile on their face and a positive outlook on learning. They are as bright and motivated as can be. They come to school eager to learn and have dreams of going to college.
