We love learning about the farm each year in PreK! We learn about the animals that live there, jobs that animals and machines help with, and how our food gets to us from the farm. In a regular, COVID-free school year, we would have the chance to take field trips to visit a farm. Unfortunately, field trips are unable to be taken this year. With the season of Spring rapidly approaching, it is the perfect time to hatch chicks right in our classroom. Hatching chicks is one of the most memorable and engaging experiences our students could have right in our classroom. We need your help! By supplying an incubator kit (Biddy Farm) for our classroom, students can experience the life cycle of a baby chick first hand! Life science, lessons on how to care for animals, responsibility, sensory engagement, fine motor skills, empathy, and social skills can be taught through hatching chicks! This would be a rewarding, exciting, and fun experience for our class!
