Its weird to think back to when I was in school and realize that the only computer in the room belonged to my teacher. There were no computer stations or video projects, just paper and pencil. Jump forward 15 years and I am teaching in a world that is moving towards digital classrooms.
Whenever my first graders walk past older grades using their technology to record evidence for science or record a project, the first words out of their mouth are, "Ms. H can we do that?" I try my best to give them those opportunities but my wallet only stretches so far. I have been able to bring in my own personal tablet and laptop in addition to our desktop computers to maximize their use of technology, but if I had these tablets for my students, we could be mobile with them and even move towards digital centers. The opportunities are endless.
