I would love to improve and build upon our small art library that we already have started! Through this project, we would gain twenty-three more books for our collection and have more opportunities to enhance our learning through children's literature. The littles especially love when a book can relate to lines, or shapes, or texture! Even the older kids who are creating still lifes can have fun and engaging books to bring their project to life and increase engagement while working.
Children's literature has always been important for me to integrate into my classroom and kids love to read!
Not only is it a way for us to further project learning and the elements and principles of art, these books can bring artists to life and show their artwork in other ways besides a powerpoint. Reading and sharing these books with my kids can build relationships with art and schools of art. My students can expand their vocabulary through new words and concepts in these books. Best of all, they relate to creation and making things and having fun.
