We have all heard that there are many types of learners out there. So why are the locations for learning so limited? Beyond the desks and rug, I want to help my students understand themselves better as learners by providing them with diverse work spaces that meet their learning needs. Standing, sitting, reclining, or even bouncing - creative collaborative learners need and yearn for choice. That's why my project includes seating options like yoga balls, poufs, wobble stools, and beanbag chairs - all intended to provide students comfortable work spaces away from the traditional seating arrangement. I also need bookcases, bins, and small storage to keep student supplies neat and organized. I envision a total classroom redesign with the focus on students at the center. Unfortunately, there's simply no room in the budget or furniture in the warehouse to accommodate our need, and so I turn to you! Please help us to become a more responsive classroom, a more engaging environment, and more successful bunch of scholars!
