These wrenches, sockets, drill bits and tool chest will replace several tools that have been lost over the years due to moving our pit several times. It will also give students a new tool chest to keep them organized and safe when they are not in use. We will also be able to take these tools with us to competitions, since the tool chest has wheels. As students build and repair our robot, it's important that they can efficiently find the right tools they need to do the job. When students can find the right wrench, socket or drill bit quickly, they can focus on the important job of getting our robot ready for competition. The students use these tools to initially build the robot as well as make adjustments or repairs to the robots during practice and competition. The tool chest will provide an organized, portable place to store tools so students can find and access them quickly. Sometimes during competition, there is little time to make needed adjustments or repairs. In the past, we have not always been able to find the right wrench or socket when we need it or realized that we didn't even have the one we're looking for. We've also broken several drill bits and it's also hard to see what size they are due to the wear they've experienced. New set of wrenches, sockets and drill bits will replace missing ones, allow students to identify the correct size and provide a container for organization. All of those will fit into a new tool chest, since our old one has seen better days.
