I teach sixth through eighth grade students within a dual academic and therapeutic classroom (SDC-CE). My students are bright, charismatic students who are motivated to learn when given time to process information using multiple forms of representation. All students I serve have shown the need for significant support within the areas of social-emotional and behavior development in addition to their varied academic areas of need. Behavioral Aides within the classroom assist in providing direct support for students throughout the day, including transitions to and from my classroom. In addition, they receive opportunities for individual and group therapeutic supports daily by a licensed therapist through scheduled sessions as well as on an "as-needed" basis.
