My students, particularly my ESL students, need access to hands-on experiences and technology to be able to succeed. They will benefit from exposure to the content in multiple mediums. The mobile STEM lab will provide learning opportunities in groups that will spark curiosity and allow ESL students to practice English in a more informal setting with peers. The laptops will then allow them to conduct research on the STEM topic at hand where they can easily translate the information if they need to. They will also be able to use several presentation tools to creatively share what they have learned with their classmates. Due to their socioeconomic status, many of my students do not have access to computers at home which typically makes this type of project difficult.
If I can provide opportunities for them to have more ease of access in the classroom to technology and hands-on STEM experiences it will greatly further their progress. Having these tools will also allow me to pre-teach by providing access to content online where the students can work through digital lessons at their own pace. Your donation will allow all of my students to have a more enriched school experience and provide opportunities they may not have otherwise.
