Having these materials in my classroom with help to create more avid readers. This year, it has been my mission to create a culture of readers within my classroom. I have spent close to $1,000 of my own money to build up my classroom library, but I am need of so much more! Some books will be used in the shared classroom library. These will support students ability to choose what books they read. Other books will be used as book club sets, which will allow students to share their reading experience with other students. I have been working towards giving students a choice in the book they read when we complete book clubs, but that requires a large selection of books. Students will learn not only to BE readers but how to choose books for themselves and how to share those books with others.
