My students are mostly of latino and hispanic origin. We are a title one school with a very low API. Some students are in school from 730 am to receive free breakfasts and are here until 6 pm in program after school because their parents work. I spend more time with these children than their own families. the average income is 29,000 for a family of 3 on average with about 94% of the school population being on free/reduced lunch. My students are energetic, always excited to find out what project I have planned for them next and they are so grateful. I have seen such a turn around in some of our troubled children. those that had a hard time in the beginning of the year are learning to be more kind and sincere to others and establishing new friendships. Some are taking on the role of student leaders and really blossoming in to their independence. We have a great group of students that need more opportunitties to discover their passions and succeed
