In light of COVID -19 some children come to me, never had being in a school setting before, or spending most of their Pre-Kindergarten experience learning from home, virtually. The lack of time they have spent with other children in a learning environment, has made quite a noticeable difference from years past in the areas of social and fine motor skills.
The dramatic play activities requested, will give my classroom family the opportunity to continue working on their fine motor skills, while interacting with each other through play, while strengthening their social skills! For example, time spent exploring the wooden store and kitchen area, will lead students to have conversations with their peers while using their imagination. I believe sharing the toys respectfully with one another, will help them in thesocial skill area of self-regulation.
