My classroom is more of a community than a location. The strength of the relationships between my students allows our learning to constantly look different. This community appeals to a variety of learners. Some students learn through play while others are learning through visual or auditory aids. Regardless, they are all aware of their own learning styles. This awareness provides my students with an opportunity to foster more independence as they prepare for middle school. Rarely, are my students sitting behind a desk or listening to a lecture. We are often working in differentiated small groups, or are learning through play and conversation with peers. My students are aware of the fact that they are here to make mistakes, and use them to better their own understanding in all content areas. As a community, we work hard towards their goals. Their achievements are what constantly drive me to be as creative as possible.
