I turn the lights off before my students walk back into the classroom. They know what to do: roll out a mat from the yoga cart, and lay down. "Can I have a heavy blanket?" "I need 2 sandbags, please" "Bolster please" "Where would you like it?" I whisper. "On my tummy" "Under my legs" "Over my body" "On my feet" I can see their bodies melt into relaxation as the weighted props help ground their bodies. They yawn, but don't sleep. We stay quiet until we are ready to learn again. This project will help us relax and learn.
