There are 5 literacy centers: Computers: iStation (laptops), Reading: Audio book, Writing: narrative or informative, Spelling: SpellingCity (laptops), and Grammar: cut and paste. My students love using technology in class and have steady focus and consistent growth through their computer usage. iPad's would be the perfect addition and replacement to old, no-sound, issue-filled laptops. I have seen unmotivated students turn completely around and excel because of the engagement they portray when using these technology platforms. My literacy students look forward to W, TH and F because of literacy centers in the afternoon. Students are able to put on headphones and really focus on the concepts/practice lessons or dive deep into a story they love. Thank you! :)
