My students are extremely excited to be a part of a classroom that is technology-based. From social media, to blogging, to Google docs and instructional videos, my students study Medieval World History in a classroom of the future.
My students attend a free college prep academy in a high poverty, predominantly African-American public charter school in California. However, our school serves a demographic that does not have dependable access to technology at home. For some of my students, the Internet, computers, laptops, and smart technologies are a luxury that are seen at home or the corner library. Furthermore, my students have very few opportunities to explore the world, its people, places, cultures, and ideas outside of their neighborhood. So, I am bringing both the historical AND digital world to my students!
