Isolation and quarantine have had negative effects on children, and while well-meaning families entertained their young children with whatever means they had available while coping with the pandemic, we are seeing the depth of the effects in the way young children approach play. Imagination and social cooperation have taken a back seat to pre-designed games and screens. But we can do something about it with toys that encourage open-ended, creative play!
With these toys, we can enhance student engagement with their own imaginations. Young learners will be able to grow their minds and creative muscles with these open ended toys. Teachers will coach students in small groups on how to use the toys by giving them scenarios and modeling creative play, then allow them to express their own creativity through independent and peer initiated play. With your donation, Preschoolers will use time-tested toys to practice important pre-literacy, pro-social skills such as retelling stories and creating stories of their own while honing cooperation and collaboration with peers.
