As adults, we know that things are always better when we have a comfy seat to sit on. If you have to sit in a meeting in hard chairs, would you enjoy the meeting? No! So, why do we expect our kids to LEARN in hard stiff chairs?
Flexible seating, like differentiated instruction, shows students that they do not have to "fit in a box." With flexible seating, students are allowed to make choices and find out how they learn best. They are allowed to learn in a comfortable way and make positive connections with their learning! (yes, wobble cushions, balance chairs, and cushions can make learning easier and fun!)
Alongside flexible seating, organization is so important in the classroom. With book bins and Rolling drawers, students and adults in the classroom will know exactly where things are and where they go! Between organization and flexible seating, my classroom will be a place where learning will
