These items will allow my students a choice in where they sit to learn. I believe this is important for their education and allows them to feel some what in control of their learning environment. I teach my students as if they are my family and I want them to feel at home in my classroom. Flexible seating makes school not seem so formal, and allows the children to learn in a way that they are most comfortable. They can stand at a tall table or sit at a lap tray. They can sit on a chair that allows them some movement (wobble chairs) with out disturbing the class. They can also lay down on the floor with a clipboard if that works best for them. Having the big rug will allow them some comfort while working on the floor or sitting for a group lesson. My ultimate goal is for my kids to feel loved and supported while learning what they need to know to grow in life.
