My class is located in a suburban school in a small city. We have some students coming from rural areas. We are a title one school, with many students receiving free or reduced priced lunch. Thirteen out of my twenty-five third grade students struggle to learn in a traditional way. Through the use of small group instruction and accommodations, they are learning the same standards and are being held to the same expectations as their peers. Everyone learns in their own way and in their own time. In my classroom we, my co-teacher and I, meet the students where they are and teach them where they need to go.
