Students don’t learn by walking into a classroom, the classroom is but a box. In order to take from that box, we must put into it first. The art space at Holmes middle school is just a box until it’s filled with a passion, thoughts, creativity, kindness, energy, and knowledge of its staff and students. We strive to think outside of the box, to give kids ideas about future careers, their community and to set lifelong goals. The gift that is received from the box is hands-on experiences and project learning the fuels career choices and skills. From this box brings the most amazing ideas and experiences and a space for both students and staff learning together in a creative, safe space. When you enter the box you become a risk taker, creator, friend, student, teacher, innovator, problem solver, and team member. Welcome to Holmes Art Studio, The Box.

About my class
