I want my students to possess a true love for reading. Because it is my first year teaching 1st grade I don't yet have a classroom library! I have been buying lots of books that show diversity, challenge my students, and contain themes of kindness, patience, generosity and other lovely traits I know my students will have. But, I need your help creating this library for my students! I'm requesting a variety of fiction and nonfiction books including The Giving Tree, Three Tales of My Father's Dragon, The Tortoise and the hare, The Three Billy Goats Gruff, Harold and the Purple Crayon Board Book, Who Was Nelson Mandela?, I Am Rose Parks, Starring Grace, and The Little Engine That Could. The addition of these books to my classroom library will create a fun and interesting place students can get excited to visit.
