Welcome! In my 8th grade Physical Science classes students engage in a rigorous introduction to chemistry and physics! In my Marine Science elective, 7th and 8th graders do hands-on environmental science through labs and the care of saltwater aquariums. Our science department has developed a meaningful STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) curriculum. On a daily basis my students do a variety of activities including inquiry, hands-on investigations and making connections between what they study and real-world applications. The class is student-centered with partner and group work, opportunities for each student to actively participate and modern technology. This learning environment requires a great deal of materials which cannot be provided by the school. Nevertheless, it is vital that we give students a relevant science experience to prepare and inspire them for success in high school and beyond!
