I am fortunate enough to teach 32 wonderful students this school year, at a wonderful elementary school. Each student has a unique personality, and are all so kind.
My school services socio-economically disadvantaged families. Therefore, my students face their first barrier prior to entering the classroom. My classroom is very diverse! About 2/3 of my class are English language learners. I have students that don't speak any English and students that only speak English.
With that said, my students come to class with smiles on their faces and are excited about the opportunity to learn. When students enter the classroom, they know that it is a safe haven, and that they are cared for.
