I am employed by Burke County Public Schools. I work in a school that has a minority population of 20% of total enrollment. The number of students here who are economically disadvantage is 44% of our total enrollment. I teach two College Prep courses and one Honors course, where all students are in 11th grade. We study American Literature. I have a large percentage of students who have special needs in my first and third period classes. I am constantly looking for ways to meet them where they are and best serve their needs. I am also constantly looking for ways to challenge my honors students in order to increase rigor.
