I teach at a Title I school where 100% of my students receive breakfast and lunch as part of the Free and Reduced Price Meal Program. Although many of them face adverse experiences in their home lives, my students come to school each day with an energy and excitement for learning and for each other. They love solving problems, creating new games, and designing experiments to test their questions about the world. My classroom is purposefully structured to meet the unique academic, social-emotional, and developmental needs of each child on an individual level. Students are constantly engaged in various modes of learning and making meaning of their world.
