Students in all Digital Art classes including Multimedia Design (Web Design), Digital Arts I/II, Digital Photography, 3D Printing & Product Design and Intro to 3D Animation, will learn how to use the variety of Graphic Design, Photography and CAD Applications available within the iPad iOS Operating System. Applications we’ll be using include: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Aero, Keynote, Jig Space and other apps that partner with the Apple Pencil. Several of the applications we’ll use exist only in the tablet platform or are specific to Apple devices that not all students have access to. These iPads will give equal access and be used by all of my students. The iPad touchscreen also gives students the opportunity to easily maneuver between manipulating a 2D work and drawing a 2D image which gives students full creative autonomy at all ability levels.
During our time at home in both our hybrid and remote learning models having these devices will give students access to their choice of apps for illustration, brainstorming, image collaboration and sketchbook development, keeping their minds engaged and on task.
During our in-class hybrid learning days, students will be able to meet our new MA State Media Arts Frameworks by using the iPads for a variety of activities such as the creation of and visualization of AR worlds & VR Scavenger Hunts for learning. My students will be fully immersed and gain confidence in using new leading edge software through project challenges that ask students to use a variety of sensory and design skills to be successful. With new technology comes opportunity which is why I am asking for devices for my students so they have access to all the tools to achieve their fullest potential during this hybrid year and for years to come.
