A majority of students will never have the opportunity to travel outside of our state. Many will only know about the Jungle and Rainforest from reading it in a book that they have borrowed from the library.
Virtual reality is truly an experience which will have a lasting effect on our students learning. Imagine their excitement and amazement when they are immersed into the Rainforest and are interacting with the animals. No longer will they have to imagine what it might look like.
When they come to library they will be able to make science come alive:literally. Through center based activities, they will have several tasks to complete using the iPod touch devices and VR headsets. One such partner activity, will have one student describe what they are seeing as descriptively as possible. The other student will draw a picture of the other students description. This is the tip of the iceberg...the possibilities are endless.
Through this project they will be provided with a technological experience which may have otherwise be unobtainable to them. Thank you in advance for helping our students travel the world.
