Headphones will enable my students to effectively use supplemental educational applications on their iPads as I work individually and in small groups with their classmates. It is impossible for me, as a single teacher, to meet the high needs of 25-30 students every minute of every day. Paired with our current iPad applications, headphones will increase the effectiveness of individualized learning applications.
Applications which provide auditory and visual instruction such as Read Naturally Live, Smarty Ants, Rocket Math, MyOn, McGraw-Hill Wonders and Math Expressions will be more effective and accessible to students who have headphones.
Rather than shouting, "Teacher, I'm done!" throughout the day, my students will be learning to use technology as they continue on their journey toward becoming independent 21st Century learners.
