We currently teach in a co-taught classroom environment. We have groups of 25-32 students per class, with a very large range of learning abilities. We have taught together for 7 years in the same classroom; we have built a classroom in which children feel comfortable and it is an environment that encourages learning, exploring and reading. We use the workshop model which allows our students time to read each day after receiving a mini lesson on various literacy topics.
