This school is located in a state that has a new law that third graders must be retained if they are not reading at the third grade level by the end of the academic year. My high school Honor students want to foster good reading habits in the elementary students that attend our neighboring K-8. This project will benefit 58 high school students AND 120 elementary students. This donation would make it possible for my students to GIFT each elementary student with a Dr. Seuss text for them to keep and enjoy as a part of our annual Celebration of Dr. Seuss that includes a morning of reading, reading games and Dr. Seuss themed activities that make reading enjoyable.
