I am graduate of Chicago Public schools(CPS). I had attended CPS from kindergarten through senior year. And when I went to college I felt that I was not as prepared as my counterparts. Throughout college I vowed to return to CPS in order to find a way to help prepare the next generation of CPS graduates to compete in their prospective colleges and universities. I took that vow very personally and seriously. I took this vow so seriously, in fact, that I am currently teaching in the high school that I graduated from. My personal goal to prepare my students is met with many challenges, that many of us are well aware of. Despite these challenges, I still refuse to give up on the idea that all of my children deserve an equal opportunity to compete in the colleges and universities that they want to attend.
