Science education has shifted tremendously...and in a positive way! No longer are students reading text books and memorizing scientific terms. They are applying their knowledge and skills to solve various problems in their environment. Students are able to learn and retain more when they are involved in their own learning. This is especially true in science!
Problem solving becomes stronger through experimentation and trial-and-error! These earth science materials will allow my students the chance to dig-in to science. Students do not just want to read about rocks, sand, soil, and water, they want to manipulate these items. What better way to encourage and shape our future engineers than to give them the tools and life-like examples needed to experiment!
