I want my students to reach their highest potential as learners and become life long educators in our world. I am hoping to receive every day materials such as markers, books and paper. My students come from a diverse economical background and sometimes do not have access to such materials. Having these every day materials will help with their education.
Expo markers will help with practicing math and showing models. Sticky Notes will help students with their reading and writing. Students use sticky notes in their books to write down their thoughts and ideas, and also help with their graphic organizers.
Paper is needed for projects that will guide us in our learning, as well as, just a simple every day tool that my students will need to have access to.
In addition, I am also hoping for books. I am looking for a variety of genres to expose my students to. We will be learning realistic Fiction and need books to show different varieties. We will also be moving into authors studies, where I will be using and modeling some of Chris Van Alsburg amazing work.Having a different variety of texts will help connect with the common core, but also make learning exciting and fun. I want to have a classroom full of diverse genres which my student will have access too daily.
